Yakuza Kiwami 2 (PS4): COMPLETED!

Another PS4 game played on the PS5. I’ve not given this a go on an actual PS4 so I don’t know how much of this is the PS5, but having no loading is excellent, and it’s all in 4K and Kamurocho looks incredible. Kiwami 2 is a remake of the original PS2 Yakuza 2 game, which I’ve never played. I knew some of the story from flashbacks in later games in the series, but none of the detail. Like the …

Colour Zen Kids (Wii U): COMPLETED!

Look. Just because it says “Kids” in the title, that doesn’t mean it’s just for kids. Was “Toilet Kids” just for kids? No. Was “Virtua Fighter Kids” just for kids? No. MC Kids? Survival Kids? Kid ‘n’ Play Make My Video? Of course not. So shut your mouth. The aim of the game is to get rid of all the shapes that are on the screen. You do this by making two shapes of the same colour touch, which floods …

Why I’m buying a 3DS

Since the release of the original Game Boy Advance, I’ve leapt on every Nintendo console on (or before!) launch. Why should this change with the release of Nintendo’s new 3D fancy DS followup? Answer: it shouldn’t. And here’s 5 reasons why I’ll be getting one on release day: 5. The games. If you believe, they will come. The same is always true of Nintendo consoles. New Super Mario Bros, Professor Layton, Ouendan, Hotel Dusk, Another Code, Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow. …

Super Meat Boy (360)

I’ve been waiting for this for ages, and if it wasn’t for New Vegas I’d have pounced on it the second it appeared on XBLA. As it is, I decided to play it last night instead of roam the Wasteland some more. In theory, it is fantastic. The graphic style is lovely, the funny touches (like the skit of the Street Fighter II opening sequence), and the blood OH THE GLORIOUS BLOOD everywhere are amazing. It’s a simple, difficult, precision …
